Bergita writes fiction. Her short stories have appeared or are forthcoming in Cimarron Review, Salamander, Pleiades, PANK Daily, and Ruminate, among others, and her story “Gray” was anthologized in Flash Fiction America 2023.

She’s a reader at The Barcelona Review.

Before turning to writing, Bergita spent ten years in the marketing industry as a consumer anthropologist and insight strategist.  

In 2017 she interviewed people who came to the US from thirty-three African, Asian, European, and South American countries about their immigrant experience. She wrote about their thoughts and feelings on Medium and spoke at the Carnegie Mellon University Humanities Festival.

Bergita was a songwriter and singer in the world music band Alma Mura.

She was born and grew up in Zagreb, Croatia, and now lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
